Analysis of The Neo Classical Theory of Economics Research Paper

Examination of The Neo Classical Theory of Economics - Research Paper Example The Neoclassical hypothesis of financial matters presented the idea of expanding benefits or utility as the base reason for the balanced choices made by man. The monetary man acts judiciously in order to amplify the increases out of the activity. On account of people, the utility of the item chooses the cost and the market estimation of the item. On account of the organizations, it is the gainfulness of the organization that would be the integral factor. Another driving idea driving the neo-traditional hypothesis is that it additionally acknowledged the way that the people will act autonomously and their view of what is gainful to them may shift. William Stanley Jevons (1871) in his fundamental work, The Theory of Political Economy says, 'Given, a specific populace, with specific needs and powers of creation, possessing certain terrains and different wellsprings of material: required, the method of utilizing their work which will amplify the utility of their produce.' The neo-old style was impacted by the contemplations of various market analysts of the twentieth century and the conduct financial aspects was received by the lion's share in lieu of the neo-old style. An adjusted form of this is named the new traditional financial hypothesis and the vast majority of the present day take a shot at financial aspects depends on these standards. The new traditional hypothesis contemplates different elements that settle on up the financial dynamic of the people (Emma Dawnay and Hetan Shah Jul 2005). It considers the conduct and selection of individuals dependent on different reasons not really constrained by the feeling of augmenting their utility or their worth or their profits. Proclamation and its suggestions The announcement brings to the cutting edge of the seven fundamental rules that separate the new exemplary monetary hypothesis from the neoclassical one. Notwithstanding, this hypothesis acknowledges the way that financial aspects is one of decision and inclination. The rationale of inclination or financial choices is constrained by the market costs, the arrival to the individual or the organization will receive in return lastly the assignment of assets. Aside from these, the choices are made dependent on various components that are more conduct arranged as opposed to financial matters coordinated. Data stream in the commercial center influences the market cost and makes a pattern in the market. Data in this day and age likewise affects the monetary conduct of countries. Assumptions in Quantitative Research Essays

Presumptions in Quantitative Research Essays Presumptions in Quantitative Research Paper Presumptions in Quantitative Research Paper Post-positivism permits analysts to analyze real factors through an assortment of estimation apparatuses; subsequently getting to real factors which could escape estimation by direct perception (Giddings Grant, 2007; Schumacher Greener, 1992). Whether or not the analyst embraces a positivist or post-positivist way of thinking, the depiction of the ideal models start with suppositions about the scientists job and relationship to the setting, and by recognizing the epistemological and legitimacy presumptions basic the decision of the job and relationship. The conviction that there is a reality existing outside of the specialist, cap this reality can be watched (cosmology), and that information on this reality can be estimated impartially (epistemology) are primary presumptions in quantitative research (Hathaway, 1995). Accordingly the objects of intrigue are estimated by instruments (e. G. , telescope), the information is inspected and examined to decide whether legitimate examples are available, and sound hypotheses are developed to clarify and anticipate an assortment of realities (Hathaway, 1995). Ontologically the specialist expect that the outside the truth is included realities that are law-like and give structure or a hypothetical system to this reality. Material science gives a case of this methodology. Methodological and Ontological Assumptions Exact systematic request is described by the scientists disengaged or target see from the setting under investigation. This objectivity or separation is, to some degree, because of the suspicion that the item under examination is discrete from or autonomous of the specialist (Eisner, 1981; Smith, AAA; Smith, Bibb). In the experimental diagnostic view, analysts cling to the brain reality duality and the psyche is viewed as isolated from the real world (Hathaway, 1995). Another method for considering objectivity is that of being hustle impartial (Schumacher Greener, 1992). This is an outrageous view and inside the contemporary observational diagnostic view, specialists would guarantee that most request is hypothesis loaded (Smith, Bibb). Be that as it may, with objectivity as the objective, the scientist endeavors to forestall inclinations all through the exploration procedure and endeavors to control the examination plan for legitimacy, believability, and unwavering quality (Burns Grove, 1997). While it is difficult to accomplish total objectivity, developing a consciousness of potential dangers and taking measures to diminish dangers at whatever point potential serves to fortify the examination venture. It is essential to underscore the interweaved idea of the presumption about objectivity and the supposition that a reality exists outside of the onlooker. The eyewitness, or analyst, expect that reality exists outside of the human experience (Carroty, 1998; Polite-OHara et al. , 1991). As such, there are realities with a target reality separate from the convictions of the scientist in this manner reality exists paying little heed to the analysts nearness (Firestone, 1987). In a contemporary point of view, reality holds an intervened position between the target and emotional universes. Reality influences people and unman creatures impact reality (Schumacher Greener, 1992). In this manner inconspicuous real factors exist and can be spoken to in hypothetical ideas. This line of reasoning broadens teenager presumption AT realty Deanna Tanat wanly can De hybrid just Dye threw the faculties. A case of an undetectable reality would be a conviction that downturn is a reality. Despondency isn't an item that we can watch. Or maybe we can watch marvels, for example, activities, practices, and results that might be related with sadness. Given this marvel, hypothetical Judgments are made about what comprises a hypothetical truth of sorrow. The hypothetical build empowers the analyst to structure an examination venture regarding the matter of gloom. Connected to the supposition about the truth is the suspicion that reality comprises of realities or certainties that can be known (Hathaway, 1995) and these realities give the analyst a hypothetical system to help manage the request (Firestone, 1987). The analyst plans to unequivocally and characterize classes dependent on these realities before the examination starts and afterward decides the connections between them (Firestone, 1987; Smith, Bibb). Theories setting up a connection among circumstances and logical results are rived from these classes and just the information that is pertinent to them are gathered and tried. An outrageous study might be that the truth is by and large effectively organized by the specialists indicted classes and that this approach is unduly controlled with respect to what is pertinent to the investigation. The presumption basic this point is the deterministic or direct nature of theory testing. Control is innate in this technique for request which is another hidden presumption of quantitative research. Specialists utilizing a progressively moderate methodology inside the post positivist worldview perceive that examination is a human undertaking. They determine their from the earlier classes from individual convictions or experience, from hypothetical detailing, or from their own or others interpretive research (Hathaway, 1995). Since the truth is viewed as moderately steady and analysts can watch it, a further supposition that will be that of target estimation (Polite-OHara et al. , 1991). The reason for target estimation is to increase a comprehension about the truth of a marvel in a goal way (Giddings Grant, 2007). In this way, in the demonstration of archiving and estimating, the scientist, in the job of a withdrew passerby, holds objectivity (Hathaway, 1995). At the end of the day, it is fundamental that the estimation tool(s) and process are goal to increase nearer nearness to genuine information on the marvel. Estimation is a significant supposition in quantitative research and estimation apparatuses, if appropriately planned and applied, can lead the analyst to more noteworthy comprehension about the marvel. Estimation is the way toward doling out numbers to the wonder utilizing some kind of rule (Burns Grove, 1997). Before doling out numbers there is a presumption that the estimation tool(s) will be exact in estimating the wonder. For instance, if a scientist needs to gauge torment, an estimation instrument, for example, a torment scale could be utilized. On the other hand, the specialist could decide to quantify feelings about different agony medicines. So as to gauge the assessments, the scientist would relegate numbers to the most probable reactions watched. In building the agony treatment assessment tool(s), it is fundamental that the estimation tool(s) have a suitable correspondence to the truth of torment treatment suppositions (Polite-OHara et al. , 1991). Consequently to precisely quantify a marvel, the estimation tool(s) must be founded on a reality and be as target as could reasonably be expected. The presumptions of the real world, objectivity and estimation are interrelated and basic to the philosophy and procedure AT quant I t snitch examine. I nose presumptions are basic segments in the plan of quantitative research ventures. A model is if the specialist tries to comprehend methods of reasoning of adolescence, their suppositions about the real world, objectivity, and estimation identified with this way of thinking are implanted in the planning the examination venture. There is a supposition that a reality about ways of thinking of youth exist. Also, there are presumptions that ways of thinking of youth can be estimated and done so equitably. The specialist would consider how to equitably quantify ways of thinking of youth when building up the examination plan. On the off chance that there were no current tool(s) to quantify the truth of methods of reasoning of youth, it is important to build up an estimation tool(s) which could precisely gauge the marvel. In building up the device, the specialist would make objective hypothetical Judgments about what factors (e. G. , mental, natural, and so forth ) would connote this marvel. In aggregate, suspicions that the truth (ways of thinking of youth) exists, that such truths are quantifiable, and that the collection and procedure of request are as target as conceivable are trademarks in the quantitative way to deal with explore. Epistemological Assumptions Knowledge inside the observational expository worldview has utility in the event that it is summed up. The point of request is to sum up from the specific and apply a hypothetical structure that can be applied all around (Hathaway, 1995). Along these lines the point of speculation is served by the advancement of all inclusive information. An expansive model is investigate on the viability of agony drugs. Control and test bunches are seen to decide the impacts of a particular medication. On the off chance that there is legitimization to trust it reduces torment the drug is made accessible for treating the populace everywhere through a directed procedure. Information is likewise characterized by what specialists call information and the determination of significance. The specialist leading exact systematic request settles on choices that will uncover what is commonly relevant to every single comparative circumstance (Firestone, 1987; Smith, AAA; Smith, Bibb). Taking a basic position, Habeas (1971) asserted that such request infers a separation of information from human intrigue (Habeas, 2005) and questions the it with singular settings, qualities, and inclinations. Alert must be taken while thinking about that the setting of disclosure might be very unique in relation to the setting of training. Isolating the widespread from the specific is cultivated through a few procedures (e. G. , instrumentation and accuracy) and methodological suspicions (e. G. , estimation procedures) (Hathaway, 1995). The scientist, autonomous of explicit circumstances under examination, decides a lot of estimated classes dependent on from the earlier information and behaviors a controlled request to offer importance to marvels that have sign

In a few cases, recall elections can be used to revoke the office of an elected official. Generally, however, voters do not have any direct way of holding elected representatives to account during the term for which they have been elected. Additionally, some officials and legislators may be appointed rather than elected. Constitution, or statute, can empower a legislative body to hold their own members, the government, and government bodies to account. This can be through holding an internal or independent inquiry. We will write a custom essay on Types of Accountability specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Inquiries are usually held in response to an allegation of misconduct or corruption. The powers, procedures and sanctions vary from country to country. The legislature may have the power to impeach the individual, remove them, or suspend them from office for a period of time. The accused person might also decide to resign before trial. Impeachment in the United States has been used both for elected representatives and other civil offices, such as district court judges. In parliamentary systems, the government relies on the support or parliament, which gives parliament power to hold the government to account. For example, some parliaments can pass a vote of no confidence in the government. Ethical accountability Ethical accountability is the practice of improving overall personal and organizational performance by developing and promoting responsible tools and professional expertise, and by advocating an effective enabling environment for people and organizations to embrace a culture of sustainable development. Ethical accountability may include the individual, as well as small and large businesses, not-for-profit organizations, research institutions and academics, and government. One scholarly paper has posited that it is unethical to plan an action for social change without excavating the knowledge and wisdom of the people who are responsible for implementing the plans of action and the people whose lives will be affected. Administrative accountability Internal rules and norms as well as some independent commission are mechanisms to hold civil servant within the administration of government accountable. Within department or ministry, firstly, behavior is bounded by rules and regulations; secondly, civil servants are subordinates in a hierarchy and accountable to superiors. Nonetheless, there are independent â€Å"watchdog† units to scrutinize and hold departments accountable; legitimacy of these commissions is built upon their independence, as it avoids any conflicts of interest. Apart from internal checks, some â€Å"watchdog† units accept complaints from citizens, bridging government and society to hold civil servants accountable to citizens, but not merely governmental departments. Market accountability Under voices for decentralization and privatization of the government, services provided are nowadays more â€Å"customer-driven† and should aim to provide convenience and various choices to citizens; with this perspective, there are comparisons and competition between public and private services and this, ideally, improves quality of service. As mentioned by Bruce Stone, the standard of assessment for accountability is therefore â€Å"responsiveness of service providers to a body of ‘sovereign’ customers and produce quality service. Outsourcing service is one means to adopt market accountability. Government can choose among a shortlist of companies for outsourced service; within the contracting period, government can hold the company by rewriting contracts or by choosing another company. Constituency relations Within this perspective, a particular agency or the government is accountable f voices from agencies, groups or institutions, which is outside the public sector and representing citizens’ interests in a particular constituency or field, are heard. Moreover, the government is obliged to empower members of agencies with political rights to run for elections and be elected; or, appoint them into the public sector as a way to hold the government representative and ensure voices from all constituenc ies are included in policy-making process. Legal scholar Anne Davies, for instance, argues that the line between public institutions and private entities like corporations is becoming blurred in certain areas of public service provision in the United Kingdom and that this can compromise political accountability in those areas. She and others argue that some administrative law reforms are necessary to address this accountability gap. With respect to the public/private overlap in the United States, public concern over the contracting out of government (including military) services and the resulting accountability gap has been highlighted recently following the shooting incident involving the Blackwater security firm in Iraq.

Personal accounts Essays

Personal accounts Essays Personal accounts Essay Personal accounts Essay Essay Topic: Orlando The credibility of contemporary fraudulent schemes counts among the perils of modern society. It is beyond anyone’s morbid imagination, however, to hold institutions with all the due reputations of the academe a rip-off. It did seem then that freedom from institutional greed and interest groups sets the academe apart. This article, based on personal accounts, proves us wrong. With the promise of a lucrative-paying job after graduation in 14 months, Christina Pelion set out to study Network Securities in the Academy of Technology in Orlando, FL. The school director’s assuagements (Kirk Sanchez) of an $ 80,000 annual income compelled her to get a $ 21,000 loan for the cost of tuition, supplies and living expenses. Class was enjoyable for her at first, with her 15 student-class giving priority to studies. It was only two months after she started with the program that one of their two instructors left. The lone instructor took over, without due explanation from anyone as to the instructor’s resignation. They had normal class operations for the next few months. One day, however, Sanchez came, telling the class they had to move to a smaller location for they have no need for something that big. It was moved to a â€Å"rundown strip mall in a seedy area†. Christina worried and demanded a refund, suspecting her school is beset by financial problems. Sanchez’s assuagements of better perspectives for the school and some waived fees changed her mind. Her school, apparently unlicensed, disappeared eight months after she started studying. Contacting lawyers, informing the Florida Department of Education, and even appealing to its affiliate, the Metro Wide Technical Institute weren’t of much help either.Even licensed and reputable schools are not exempt from such perils. After two years of studying, Christy Hogan was bent on taking her final certification test, a graduation requirement for her electrical science program in the reputab le, licensed Decker College in Louisville, KY. Decker College has been recently in the news for its political affiliations and multiple fraud allegations. Christy got a call informing her of the test postponement because of the sheer size of booked test-takers. It was postponed again at the promised date. One time, she just found an official message informing students of Decker’s bankruptcy and closing. A present NBI investigation for fraud allegations deterred any possibility of access to their transcript of records, transfer credits records, and financial aid and certificate records. Only those students who had government loans are promised the possibility of degree awarding and tuition refund.Current legislation is lenient with regard to its provisions on career colleges and trade schools. This makes technical, nursing and other vocational schools vulnerable to administrative abuse. While many of its clients are 20-something women who are aiming better lives, a swindlerâ⠂¬â„¢s skill often suffices in bypassing feminine intuition. Moreover, college education, albeit under tighter restrictions, often comes at a prohibitive cost- making career colleges a last resort. This demand for vocational education, the comparative ease of putting up a career school, and loose regulation are probable reasons that make them prime targets for premeditated swindling.I am suggesting scam-avoidance tips in order to help a prospective consumer avoid falling prey to ruthless rip-offs. First, check on the career college’s license and accreditation. The length of time in operation and number of graduates are useful hints. Scams usually offer incredible and baseless promises. The article lists the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (accsct.org) and the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (acics.org) as primary government-independent accreditation bodies. Second, check on the founder’s background and contac t information, and browse scam websites for education-related complaints. The article singles out the website badbusinessbureau.com. Third, research by consulting successful same-field graduates and ask for their recommendations. Lastly, check out good alternatives such as state colleges and local high school vocational programs. State community colleges, for instance, are more regulated, cost-effective, and financially-secure.Attention is a quality that can elude the worst swindlers; be alert!

Article 43 provides for freedom of establishment by which individuals can get self employed. Article 49 gives freedom to provide and receive service in any part of the E.U.1. Citizens are bound by the law of the European Union and decision of the European Union Court of Justice is final. The individuals and Government officials should consult the legislation relating to the European parliament which represents people of Europe, the Council of the European Union which represents national governments of member states, and the European Commission that takes care of the common interest of the E.U. The Sarbotinians should exercise their votes in European Parliament elections. Some of the benefits that Sarbotinians can enjoy because of this membership in the EU are that they can travel across EU regions without passports and border checks. They can buy goods of their choice in any other member state where they may get at cheaper prices without custom duties. The single currency Euro makes it easier for all EU members to travel in any part of EU without having to convert it to local currency. Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain are already using Euro even for their local transactions. Hereafter it will be a single market without frontiers for member states thus intensifying competition and ensuring the highest possible quality for goods and services at the lowest possible prices. As per ascension treaty, there can be restrictions on work in other member states for new Sarbotinians between January 2010 and December 2015 but they will be phased o ut gradually. While the U.K.,

Introdction to sociology Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Introdction to sociology - Essay Example Both group of people experience life is continually changing and both find it difficult to control, but they differ on the perspectives. Strategies should be formulated as it gives some sort of control and forward planning in life but such households are few. Such people attempt to ‘make out’ while others are just ‘getting by’. Every individual and household has to encounter contingencies and both planner and non-planners have to cope with it. The ones who plan find it easier to cope with changed situations while the non-planners have to struggle. Most people just try to ‘get by’ which is not advisable. Most of the people have to experience both the situations in their lives but ultimately some sort of forward planning does make life easier. In the educational field it operates via the process of individualization or choice and through the characteristics of the cultural and social capital. A research on the different market forces in education revealed that the teachers, parents and managers have different priorities, values and skills (Gerwitz, Ball & Bowe). These govern the local markets. The authors contend that the goods should be distributed according to merit or those families deserve it that are motivated to take advantage of the policy of open enrolment. The other definition is need-based which implies that resources should go to those in need of it and those who have fewer resources in the home and community to meet educational needs. The main findings of the study suggest that the schools are keen to meet the perceived demands of the parents and the market is middle-class oriented. Parental choice of school is based on race and class. They also have the capacity to exploit the market to their children’s advantage. Since schools are funded on the basis of the number of students. Locality holds no importance. The skilled and

Assignment Internal Cash Control Essay Example for Free

Assignment Internal Cash Control Essay The weaknesses in the internal control over cash disbursements are, there should be only one person in charge of writing the checks for each task, and there should be numbered checks for both people so that the funds spend can be tracked easier, the cabinets were the checks are stored should be two locked cabinets, one for each person who writes the checks. Memo: I would recommend that to have a better control over money paid and items purchased, that you start having numbered checks in two separate accounts, one account for the treasurer and one account for the purchasing agent. This method will make it easier for moth parties to avoid mistakes, and it will also be easier to verify money spent and received. P4-1A The internal control principles implemented by the Guard Dog Company are, numbered checks so that the company has a number trail to monitor cash dispersment. Each check must have approval from Jane Bell, and Dennis Kurt before a check can be issued, this is an establishment of responsibility to ensure that not just anyone ion the company can write checks. Checks must be signed by either Tom Kimball, the treasurer, or Karen Thews, the assistant treasurer. Before signing a check, the signer is expected to compare the amounts of the check with the amounts on the invoice, this is also a form of establishment of responsibility and both of these procedures are a use of documentation procedures. After signing a check, the signer stamps the invoice â€Å"paid† and inserts within the stamp, the date, check number, and amount of the check. The â€Å"paid† invoice is then sent to the accounting department for recording. By doing this it is a way of verifying company cash dispersment and documentation control. Blank checks are stored in a safe in the treasurer’s office. The combination to the safe is known by only the treasurer and assistant treasurer. By locking the checks in a safe it establishes responsibility for the checks, and uses a Physical, mechanical, and electronic controls to narrow down any check problems to one source. Each month the bank statement is reconciled with the bank balance per books by the assistant chief accountant. By doing this it establishes document control, this way any discrepancies in the amount paid can be verified. Indicate the weaknesses in internal accounting control in the handling of collections. The weaknesses in the handling of collections are the way the money is deposited, the way the checks are made out and the way the money is verified and deposited. P4-2A List the improvements in internal control procedures that you plan to make at the next meeting of the audit team for (1) the ushers, (2) the head usher, (3) the financial secretary, and (4) the finance committee. The improvements the ushers need to make is that after each offering they should individually count their own collected baskets and log there amount in an offering log book, so that there is less room for error in the next step. By handing all the baskets to the head usher without counting the money themselves, the head usher can offer any amount on his final deposit. The improvements the head usher needs to make is to make sure that each usher counts their baskets, and that the head usher counts all the baskets and checks for discrepancies to make sure that no one is pocketing any money. The head usher should also check the amount given to him/her against what is written in the offering log. Have a book to log the amount of money that is put into the safe so that it is logged in a way that can be verified by the committee, a note is not a safe method because it can be thrown out, by logging in a book it is easier to find were the discrepancies came from. The improvements the financial secretary should make is that he/she should have a list of what needs to be paid and make a log of the amounts that need paid and to make sure the receipts are logged along with whatever bills or services that needed to be paid that week. The financial secretary should also verify the amount of money in the safe against the log that is kept by the ushers. The financial committee should show a more detailed list of what expenditures are needed each month so that the financial secretary knows what is needed for payment that month. They should also be involved in verifying the churches income. To improve internal control the church should have a log for money received during offerings, they should tell the congregation to make the checks payable to the church or to the account holder that the checks are deposited into, because anyone can cash a check made out to â€Å"cash†. The church should also verify that any money not deposited from the offering was spent properly and not used for personal things. Include how a company could use the five basic principles of cash management to increase accuracy for a business. A company can increase the collection of receivables by offering incentives for quick payment from their customers. A company can delay the payment of liabilities and bills to close to the due date of the liability or bill, so that if any expenditure is needed before the due date they will not have spent the money too early. A company can keep inventory low on the merchandise that does not sell quickly, so that the company has money for the merchandise that is popular and selling fast. A company that wish to expand should wait until they have excess money in a slow season so that they can expand their business and have new locations open in time for their busy season. A company should invest money that is sitting idle into low risk companies’, the most common form of liquid investments is interest-paying U. S. government securities.

Fear of Losing Control :: essays research papers

It is common understanding in business that to stay ahead of the competition, change is necessary. Employees are consistently told they must continue to find new ways to achieve better results. The direction is clear – improve productivity, become more effective, get more done with less, get it right the first time. When groups in the middle or the bottom of an organization begin to change how they do their work, does the rest of the organization give them unqualified support? â€Å"Top-Down† vs. â€Å"Bottom-Up† Change   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  While much of senior management at large corporations today might claim to want â€Å"self-empowered† employees, the opposite would seem to be the rule. Rarely is change initiated from somewhere other than at or from the â€Å"top† allowed to significantly alter an organization, unless the higher levels of authority within the organization have envisioned the change or, at a minimum, fully sanctioned the proposal for change. One finding in a recent study surveying 4,300 U.S. companies with 100 or more employees seems to support this perspective as forty percent of hourly employees, versus only sixteen percent of managers, cited a lack of management visibility and support as a major impediment to change. (Zoglio, 1998) Organizational politics, which inevitably makes managers fear losing control more than reaching for success, inevitably lead to the demise of changes originating in other ways within the organization. This move to control people often o ccurs when these changes are near or at the point of creating significant benefits for the organization. Organizational Creative Thinking   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  In order to have sustainable, ongoing change, the work must be done with full ownership and accountability of those producing the results. The typical scenario, however, is that employees are given direction and complete work as they are told to do so by those in authority. A dependence on authority to create new ideas gets perpetuated. Perhaps those in corporate leadership positions are self-serving and realize that recognition is given most to those who create and implement profitable new ideas.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Unquestionably, leadership is most capable when it is able to keep work aligned with the strategy and direction of the organization. The best executives today have the ability to ensure the company progresses while challenging thinking. The resulting unspoken message to employees is to be creative, but only within the framework of sanctioned thinking. In other words, employees must follow someone else’s thinking while continuously improving performance.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The direction and resulting message are in conflict.

Principles and Articles of the US Constitution Essay

When one speaks of checks and balances in government you must understand what is really being asked. It is simply a system set up of the three branches of government that can either amend or veto an act of another branch as to prevent any one branch from having too much power over the other. Is this system effective? Over time, the Constitution has been interpreted and amended to adapt to changing circumstances, and the powers exercised by the federal government have changed with it. For instance because the federal government can influence the states it has the right to withhold federal funds from the states that do not want to go along with their plans whatever they maybe. Because the government can only exercise those powers specifically granted by Constitution, it is important to protection the rights and powers of the people. This includes the freedom of speech, press, and religion; the right to be free from unlawful searches and to a trail by jury, all of which are the first 10 amendments. Numerous real life conflicts have put this system to test over the past couple of centuries, but have stood fairly strong for over 200 years. From the resignation of Nixon over the Watergate scandal to Clinton’s impeachment over the affair with Ms. Lewinsky (Checks and Balances within the U. S Government) it proofs that this system can guard the U. S from any tyranny from administration corruption, scandals and cover-ups. So yes this system proves to be effective to me and that all the government branches remain important and no reform is deemed necessary at this time. How does a bill become a law? Getting a bill passed as a law takes time and effort on part of the U. S. House of Representatives. I’ll give a brief summary of the steps from bill to law. First and foremost a bill is just an idea either from the representatives or the people at which time if agreed upon it then becomes a bill. Next, other representatives have to support the bill, if so then it is placed in a box next to the clerks’ desk, assigned a number and then read to the house. The speaker of the house then sends it to the committee for review, research and revisions before sending it back to the house floor. Sometimes additional information is required and then the bill is sent to sub-committees before being an approved. Once approved the bill is then ready for debate by the House of Representatives where they will agree or disagree on the bill. Changes are then made and now the bill is ready for voting. It takes majority of the Representatives to say or select yes on the matter at which time it is then delivered to the U.  S. Senate by the clerk of the house. Just like the U. S. House of Representatives the U. S Senate goes through some of the similar steps. The Senate committee discusses the bill and then report to the Senate floor for yet again another vote. If the vote is â€Å"yea† then off to the President it goes. The President has the option to sign and pass the bill, veto the bill or do thing at which time the house makes the decision based on what is happening in the house. If by chance the bill has passed in both the U. S. House of Representatives and the U. S.  Senate and is approved by the President then the bill becomes a law and will then be enforced by the government. I believe that because the three branches were put in place for the people it has worked to some extent. The people get a chance to vote and elect who they want to run the country in which they must live. We get the option of having a trail that is to be fair and without prejudice. Sometimes though you have to ask yourself when making decisions are all the decisions about the people or are they thinking about themselves and personal agendas. I would have to say sometimes it is both. When the vote is about raising taxes who does this hurts the poor man not the wealthy. When they want to vote on cutting jobs in higher offices then they try and fix the budget. How unfair is that. Decisions should always be made to suit the country as a whole and not when it deems necessary. Some things that I did learn was that when it came to voting that it was something called electoral votes and is made by an electoral college who actually cast the votes for which the candidates really become president. a person running for president can lose the overall popular votes, but still become President because of the votes casted by the electoral college† (Kimberling, 1992). Now my take on this is that in actuality as a people we are not really electing a president that we pick because of this rule from the Electoral College, so why have us vote? The U. S. Constitution had been around for over 200 years and has managed to with stand the test of time with minimum problems so I believe that we should just allow this document to run its course and see it through the end of time.

Global factors impacting on UK business organizations Assignment 2 Task 1 Introduction Selecting an international UK company as an example to study and analyze the case. Topshop is my choice to illustrate the evidences that meet the criteria stated below. 4.1) Significance of international trade to UK business organizations International trade refers to the exchange of capital, goods and services across borders. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Global Factors Impact on Topshop" essay for you Create order Countries engage in trade only if the gains outweigh the costs. Significance of international trade to UK business organizations can be explained by the concept of comparative advantages. If each country has comparative advantage to manufacture products to be traded, the trading countries can be benefited mutually. International trade creates market opportunities of UK business organizations. If a British company only sells its products domestically and not introducing its product to foreign market, it would limit its potential. UK business companies are capable to maintain a steady sales performance from domestic market, as the brand has already established a goodwill in UK. In sight of this, Topshop set up branches in emerging economies, like BRICS. Therefore, under international trade, UK business organizations can have new market opportunity, which increases customer numbers and sales. The European recession began in the US. It spreads to Europe rapidly and most European co untries are suffering notable economic setbacks. In order to enhance competitiveness and increase market shares in both domestic and foreign markets, UK organizations establish their own brands worldwide through international trade. As a British organization, Topshop increases sales and profits by setting up branches globally. Since the domestic market of UK is small, Topshop expand its business in the countries that have larger purchasing power parity (PPP), like the US, Japan, Brazil, Germany and Indonesia, according to the IMF report (IMF, 2014). Topshop began its expansion in the mid-2000s; and set up retail stores, including those that are franchised, in the top 3 UKà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s export partners (i.e. the US, Germany and the Netherland), leading to a double in sales performance. In sight of this, international trade is a key element for UK business organizations to expand its business, so as to enhance the sales performance. 4.2) Impact of global factors on UK business organizations Businesses can be affected by external environment. Global factors influencing business includes political, economic, social, technological and environmental. Political factor It refers to the changes in government and governmental policies. Political factors influence the operation of business greatly. Topshop considers the stability of the political environment and governmental policies, when it broaden its business. In order to have a steady development of business, it chooses politically-stable countries to set up branches, such as Ireland (14 retail stores), Singapore (5 retail stores) and Hong Kong (3 retail stores). Topshop does not expand its business in Afghanistan and Syria, those countries that are politically-unstable. Economic factor It involves changes in the global economy. This factor influences on decision-making and operation of an organization, and purchasing power of potential customers. A rise in living standard imply an increase in demand of products, and thus providing greater chances for businesses to make profits, since customers are willing to spend money on fashionable items. Also, changes in the interest rate, wage rates, and inflation rate can also affect business. In case of low interest rates and increase in demand, businesses are encouraged to expand and take risks. Since UK is a member of WTO, the proportion of imports into developed countries from all sources facing tariffs rates of more than 15% declines from 7% to 5% (WTO, 2015). For example, Japan, the US and Russia are developed countries. When Topshop desires to set up more stores in those countries, it can reduce its production costs because it can enjoy from the tariff cuts. Social factor It includes cultural aspect (e.g. religious, customs, lifestyle patterns) and demographic aspect (e.g. gender, structure of population, age distribution). In a global environment, the cultural and social differences are vary from country to country. In order to cater to different consumers, Topshop adopts localization to attract more potential customers in different countries by injecting different cultures during operation of the business. For instance, during New Year, Topshop in Hong Kong lunches a production line of red costumes, while Topshop in Thailand mainly lunches white costumes. Thai believes in Buddhism and white colour symbolizes Buddhism. Technological factor It helps the business to reduce costs and develop new products. Lots of information can be securely shared by means of databases and thus enabling vast cost reduction and improvement in service. The advancement of logistics results in lower costs of transportation. Topshop is able to provide free standard shipping on orders over a particular amount of money. It is a convenient way for customers to shop at home. They can purchase clothes or accessories through online-stores. With the rise of Internet, social websites are ubiquitous. Topshop utilize e-commerce to attract more potential customers. It is an effective way to develop close relationship between customers and Topshop. Customers can share their opinions or outfits on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr; and Topshop can broadcast fashion shows via those social websites. Also, Topshop creates a blog on Inside-Out, providing some fashion ideas to netizens. It produces fashion films and posts them on YouTube. Topshop perceives the latest relevant technological advancements for its business can help stay competitive. Environmental factor In this society, environmental protection is essential to businesses. Topshop is involved in a variety of community initiatives actively, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) banner. It has long-term relationships with suppliers and works with them to make improvements to social, working and environmental conditions. The program deals with issues that are important to stakeholders, like livelihoods of the workers along the production lines, working conditions, community involvement and the reduction of the environmental impact resulting from the manufacture, distribution and sale of the products. For example, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“fashion targets breast cancerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ is the longest running charity collaboration of Topshop. Every year, it create an exclusively designed t-shirt, the proceeds of which go direct to the charity that gives help women who are diagnosed with breast cancer (Topshop, 2015). 4.3) Impact of policies of the European Union on UK business organizations The European Union (EU) is a politico-economic union consisting of 28 member states. Member states and business organizations operating in the EU have to adopt regulations and directives created by the EU. The EU promotes free trade between member states by imposing uniform tariffs, value-added tax (VAT), and consumption tax. Also, the EU operates a competition policy intended to ensure undistorted competition within the single market. As the competition regulator, the European Commission is responsible for antitrust issues, approving mergers, working for economic liberalization and breaking up cartels (Wikipedia, 2015). Therefore, Topshop can easily establish its business with little trade barriers to enter the European market. Some policies of EU are beneficial to UK business organizations, meanwhile, some policies bring disadvantages. The members of EU supposed to adopt Euro as the common currenc y, but there are 9 countries, like UK, Denmark and Sweden, have not adopted Euro. So, there is an exchange rate problem. When some branches of Topshop are located at Eurozone, the revenue from those retail stores needs to be converted into British Pound. This may involves additional transaction fees while converting Euro into Pound, resulting in an increase of its production cost. Conclusion International trade is beneficial to a MNC, as it helps increase its market opportunity and sales. Various global factors can affect an organizationà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s decision-making and business strategies. The policies of EU can be advantageous or unfavourable to UK business organizations, however, the benefits outweighs the drawbacks. References IMF (2014). Pizza hut Essay Example For Students

Pizza hut Essay INTRODUCTIONPizza Hut began operation as a single pizza shop run by two brothers, Dan and Frank Carney, in Wichita, Kansas on June 15, 1958. The chain grew to 43 restaurants in 1963 and 296 in 1968. Pizza Hut went public in 1969 and was acquired by PepsiCo, Inc. in 1977. By 1981 Pizza Hut had become the largest pizza restaurant chain in the world both in sales and number of restaurants. At that time there were 5,025 domestic units and annual sales of almost $2 billion. Before 1984 Pizza Hut saw no real competition from Dominos in the overall pizza market. COMPETITION: NEED FOR HOME DELIVERYThe challenge of Dominos changed in 1985 when they opened 954 new outlets bringing their total to 2,839 which was the largest expansion which had ever occurred in the food service business. Since Dominos was essentially a delivery-only chain the pressure was placed on Pizza Hut to compete for the market. The expansion of Dominos had led to competition in the locations where Pizza Hut had been the o nly local pizza shop. After the aggressive competition by Dominos the market share of Pizza Hut declined by 3% to 15.4% in the $53 Billion fast food market. Another important reason for Pizza Hut to enter the Home Delivery market was to capture the fast growing market of Home Delivery that increased to $7 Billion from just $0.1 Billion in a span of 8 years. In the time span of 1984 and 1985 the home delivery of pizza grew to be the newest and fastest growing fast food concept. People who had enjoyed dining out for pizza were also ordering delivery pizza for additional meals or even evening snacks. The market was opening up and becoming very successful. Pizza Hut felt they needed to jump into this area of sales. By 1986 there was a surge of business in the pizza market. The main reason for this increase was the home delivery of pizza which had suddenly gained great popularity. FRANCHISING CONCEPT ; ITS DISADVANTAGESPizza Hut had a logistical problem with the delivery aspect of sales being added to the market. Franchising was done for each restaurant Pizza Hut opened. The initial fee was $15,000 for each system. The company or franchise also paid 4% of monthly gross sales to the company. An investment of $466,000 to $816,000 was made when the dine-in/carryout restaurants were set up. The delivery-only units required a much smaller investments estimated at $128,500 to $198,500. In 1967 the International Pizza Hut Franchise Holders Association was formed to provide a home group of companies which held a loyalty to their product and their sales. By 1986 the organization handled all advertising and promotions of the Pizza Hut stores. Market areas were also determined by this group and even accessed some local co-ops in prime market areas. CANNNIBALIZATION AND MAINTENANCE PROBLEMSThe delivery phase of Pizza Hut was difficult to add to the market place without confusion and what was referred to as cannibalizing of the other phases of Pizza Hut. Dine-in/ carry out establishments were not developed to add the delivery aspect. This meant that staffing had to be changed and the possibility of creating shortages in dine-in stores was a reality. When the delivery aspect was added, the idea of store owned delivery vehicles had to be considered. Not many of the stores wanted to handle this additional charge of owning and maintaining vehicles. This meant they needed to hire drivers who were willing to use their own cars and realize the wear and tear on their cars. In addition to the vehicles and drivers, there were other concerns about the addition of delivery to established stores or the set-up of delivery-only facilities which involved less cost and less land area. The delivery-only facilities did not need to maintain large pa rking lots. They only needed a small area for the employees, including the delivery people. The company tried using a computerized central ordering system called the Customer Service Center (CSC). The use of one single number to order pizza from Pizza Hut sounded good but it was less than efficient. EXPENSIVE AND INEFFICIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTERThe principle was

Music of My Life free essay sample

My Fender Sonoran acoustic-electric guitar sits still against the draped sheets of my bedpost. I rip out a page from my notebook and reach for my favorite pen. I make a few scribbling motions in the air, waiting for any sudden spur of thought or melody to come to me. As I glance toward the clock, I read 2 AM – not a great time for an all-honors, national merit scholar to be up, especially on a school night, but as always, music prevails. The clock ticks steadily, and suddenly, my grip on my pen tightens. Yes, inspiration is coming. I have heard it before. Inrony In Pride & Prejudice Essays - Mr. Darcy, Pride And Prejudice

Inrony In Pride & Prejudice Pride and Prejudice is one of the most popular novels written by Jane Austen. This romantic novel, the story of which revolves around relationships and the difficulties of being in love, was not much of a success in Austen's own time. However, it has grown in its importance to literary critics and readerships over the last hundred years. There are many facets to the story that make reading it not only amusing but also highly interesting. The reader can learn much about the upper-class society of this age, and also gets an insight to the author's opinion about this society. Austen presents the high-society of her time from an observational point of view, ironically describing human behavior. She describes what she sees and adds her own comments to it in a very light and easy way. She never seems to be condescending or snubbing in her criticism but applies it in a playful manner. This playfulness, and her witty, ironic comments on society are probably the main reasons that make this no vel still so enjoyable for readers today. Some rules and characteristics depicted in the story seem very peculiar and are hard to conceive by people of our generation. Nevertheless, the descriptions of the goings-on in that society are so lively and sparkling with irony that most people cannot help but like the novel. Jane Austen applies irony on different levels in her novel Pride and Prejudice. She uses various means of making her opinion on 18th century society known to the reader through her vivid and ironic descriptions used in the book. To bring this paper into focus, I will discuss two separate means of applying irony, as pertaining to a select few of the book's characters. The novel is introduced by an omniscient narrator, unknown to the reader, who describes and comments on the given situations throughout the novel. The narrator serves to represent and speak for Jane Austen, enabling her to aim her criticism not only through the characters, but also in a more direct fashion. She uses this unspecified person, who is outside of all the novel's action and gives explanations, as a medium of communication to present her own opinion in an allusively open way. This narrator is the first means of making ironic remarks. Through the narrator a certain mood is created that prevails throughout the novel. The very first sentence of the novel shows this with the following sentence, It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife (Pride and Prejudice, p. 3). The irony of this statement is the universal validity with which assumptions are made in that upper-class society. It is assumed that there is nothing else for a man of high rank to want but a wife to complete his possessions. Along with his money, land, riches etc. she acts as nothing more but another piece of property, which was a common attitude in those days. Austen manages to make the attitude towards matrimony upheld by this upper class look rather ridiculous and incredible. Another ironic description is given, for instance, when Miss Bingley and Mrs. Hurst take care of the sick Jane, who stays at their house. They prese nt themselves as very affectionate and caring friends to Jane. However, that does not stop them from talking very bad about Jane's relations. The real ironic comment is that the narrator lets us readers know that after those two ladies have finished bad mouthing Jane's sister Elizabeth and the rest of her family, they return to Jane (w)ith a renewal of tenderness (p. 27). These high-society women are well versed at putting others down and whimsically, and as they think wittily, insulting the characters of those who are of a lower class - and Austen comments on it ironically by describing their behavior with irony. Through the narrator, Austen shows us how fickle this society is; being based on class and rank. The narrator exposes the vanities and its stupidity rather drastically. The comment on Aunt Phillips who would hardly have resented a comparison with the housekeeper's room (p. 56) of Rosing's with her own living-room
